The pension fund, which manages approximately <strong>$720 billion<\/strong> in assets as of December 31, 2023, initiated a position in <strong>Super Micro Computer (NASDAQ: SMCI)<\/strong>, increased its holdings in <strong>Palantir Technologies (NYSE: PLTR)<\/strong> and <strong>Target (NYSE: TGT)<\/strong>, while simultaneously reducing its stake in <strong>Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG)<\/strong>. These transactions were disclosed in a <strong>Form 13F filing<\/strong> with the <strong>Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NPS, headquartered in <strong>Jeonju, South Korea<\/strong>, did not provide comments on the investment changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id='super-micro-a-wild-rides-in-the-tech-sector'  id=\"boomdevs_1\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" ><strong>Super Micro: A Wild Rides in the Tech Sector<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Super Micro Computer, a server manufacturer at the heart of the artificial intelligence (AI) boom, has been a particularly volatile stock. The company ended 2024 with a modest <strong>7.2% gain<\/strong>, compared to a <strong>23% rise<\/strong> in the <strong>S&amp;P 500 index<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Super Micro&#8217;s stock price has been anything but stable:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>In March 2024, shares peaked at <strong>$122.90<\/strong>, reflecting a <strong>300% year-to-date gain<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By November, the stock had plummeted to <strong>$17.25<\/strong>, marking a <strong>40% year-to-date loss<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The stock rebounded to close the year at <strong>$30.48<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In early 2025, shares have climbed <strong>19%<\/strong>, while the <strong>S&amp;P 500<\/strong> is up <strong>2.5%<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Investor enthusiasm for AI and the surge in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradevision.io\/tutorials\/\" title=\"data center construction\">data center construction<\/a> initially propelled Super Micro\u2019s stock. The rally peaked in March when the company was added to the <strong>S&amp;P 500<\/strong>. However, in August, short-seller <strong>Hindenburg Research<\/strong> released a damning report alleging <strong>accounting irregularities, undisclosed related-party transactions, and compliance issues<\/strong>. Super Micro declined to comment on these allegations, but investor confidence took a hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>In <strong>September<\/strong>, <strong>Nasdaq<\/strong> issued a non-compliance notice due to delayed earnings filings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>October<\/strong> saw <strong>Ernst &amp;
